The addition designed for this circa 1940s house expanded its utility and comfort for a family of four. Period Architecture opened up the floor plan to integrate a one-story family room that flows from the newly renovated custom kitchen and butler’s pantry via breezeway. The breezeway connection prevented the need to relocate any of the existing structure’s second floor windows and presented the opportunity to incorporate an outdoor terrace and covered entry. A cupola skylight augments the light source in the new north facing addition while also adding architectural interest inside and out.
